Land Use Attitudes in the Tri-County Area
Project Leaders: Maria Lapinski, National Food Safety and Toxicology Center, Ellen Bassett, MSU Urban and Regional Planning Program, Paul Kindel, MSU Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, and Erin Maloney, MSU College of Communication Arts and Sciences
Project goal: Surveying the attitudes of citizens and policy makers toward land-use and land-preservation millages, and creating appropriate messages to communicate with a wide range of audiences and interests.


Social Entrepreneurship in the Food System

Project goal: Developing a landscape and land use curriculum for middle school students.


Constraints to Red Meat Entrepreneurship
Project Leaders: Craig Harris, MSU Department of Sociology and National Food Safety/ Toxicology Center, David S. Conner, MSU Department of Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies, Andrew Knight and Michelle Worosz, MSU National Food Safety/Toxicology Center
Project goal: Increasing the viability of specialty red meat production and identifying both the constraints to market development and the potential entrepreneurial opportunities.


Creating Entrepreneurial Communities
Project Leaders: Laurie A. Van Egeren and Diane M. Doberneck, MSU Office of University Outreach and Engagement, Barbara S. Fails, MSU Department of Horticulture, Julie A. Avery, MSU Museum, and Nine Michigan community partner sites selected through a competitive application process
Project goal: Creating a program for the training and development of entrepreneurial community teams and identifying the qualities that best predict community readiness.


From Science to Action: A Cleaner Red Cedar
