Project Description:
This project evaluated patient records in low socioeconomic status
populations in Alpena, Ingham, Saginaw, and Upper Peninsula
counties for patients at risk for Type II diabetes. The project
seeks to assess the need for follow-up studies on Type II
diabetes in these populations.

centers were contacted and linkages have been made with five
centers to determine prevalence in a diagnosed population
at pediatric and endocrinology clinics. In add
