In our world of instant messaging and sound bites, substantive information is hard to find. At the same time, lengthy reports pile up on our desks waiting for us to find the time to read them. Enter Connect magazine—a new forum for bringing you research findings, policy approaches and best practice information from Michigan State University, and telling the stories that affect children, youth and families across Michigan.

From kinship care to childhood obesity, this first issue includes just a sampling of the wide range of research and outreach work at MSU. We hope you learn something new, connect with MSU faculty, and use this as a resource to share with colleagues and your networks.
